Below are some of the cool images I generated using Sora.

My Stand on AI Art Ethics: To me, AI art is simply a platform for quick prototyping of one’s expression and should not be used in a commercialized setting.

Just like how people remix music. The remix artist owns the remix but not the original music. I believe AI does not “create art.” It “remixes” art. It is a different form of creativity and allows “remix artists” an outlet for expression.

As for credit to original artists, I do believe AI art generators should generate, along with the image, a “work cited” or credit list. Unfortunately, such a feature isn’t available in today’s tools. That is an area with much-needed change.

Moreover, (living) artists should have the right to opt out of the training of AI models. We are starting to see this in play, e.g., some copyrighted materials are censored by Sora. This is a good first step, but more work is needed.

Overall, establishing transparent, consent-based practices would not only respect the rights of the original creators but also help build trust between the artist community and AI model developers. We all have a role in this movement.
